Theta Fleet is looking for a few good men (and women) who seek adventure of the writing kind. Check out any of our sims under "Ship LIsting!"

March 2017 Fleet Awards
12-Apr-2017     Fleet News

This month was tough. There were some great nominations. But what made it harder is that we had to pick quarterly award winners from the monthly winners, and that took time. It's a great problem to have! :)

Congratulations to the winners, and to all the sims and players that make Theta Fleet a great community!

March 2017 Theta Fleet Awards

Unit of Distinction
Task Force 23
Gold (tie): USS Calypso & Starbase Vanguard
Silver: USS Hera
Bronze (tie): USS Endeavour & USS Pathfinder
Area 51
Gold: USS Galileo
Silver: USS Tokyo
Bronze: USS Falchion

Writer of the Month
Task Force 23 (tie):
Hera: Chief Petty Officer Cato West developed his character, including a side plot that will help the Hera in the long run while rescuing three people.
Calypso: Voz. I'm sounding like a broken record, but when Voz tags, he's very good. And he does tend to create enough drama to get others tagging.
Area 51:
Galileo: Notty (Miraj Derani) had an excellent month of writing and really got into the flow of the mission with her character. She had the highest post total in March out of all our players, and was our almost-unanimous Crew's Choice Award recipient. Her character is really starting to come into her own and show strong growth, and I look forward to reading Miraj's adventures next month! -Jay

Player of the Month:
Task Force 23:
Vanguard: This month is a really tough one - I cannot, in good faith, nominate just one person so I'm going to have to make it a joint nomination. Jade Lantz (Susan) and Lt. Cmdr. Graves (Chantal) have created between them a riot in Tivoli Gardens based on the recent Federation News Network revelation that a Cardassian war criminal will not be tried on Bajor. They have linked other people into these protests/riots and have created numerous posts as a result of it... the sub-story line is still ongoing and has overtaken one of the primary story lines with regards to interest!
Area 51:
Galileo: Paul's (Aren Ban) assistance as an AGM and IC XO has been invaluable over the past 30 days. In addition to assisting in the sim's large and complex main plot, he's been working with me behind the scenes to help improve the sim and plan for our upcoming reboot. He's active, enthusiastic, and the epitome of what a great XO should be. -Jay

Post of the Month
Task Force 23:
Ranger: "Arriving at Askay (part 3)" (http://ranger.sim-station.net/index.php/sim/viewpost/1342)
Area 51:
Galileo: "For Honor (Part 1 of 2)" - https://stgalileo.com/index.php/sim/viewpost/4161 "For Honor (Part 2 of 2)" - https://stgalileo.com/index.php/sim/viewpost/4166

TGCO Award of Merit
Task Force 23:
23-A: Inti Colony
23-B: USS Aurora
23-C: USS Pegasus
Area 51:
51-A: No Award
51-B: USS Falchion
51-C: No Award

Quarterly Awards: First Quarter

CO of the Quarter
Task Force 23: Enalia Telvan, USS Hera
The CO of the Hera brought the sim back from hiatus, added crew from the Katana, and combined the two sims in a great story arc. This quarter, the sim has done very well, in spite of the CO's own health issues.
Area 51: Taiga Aisaka, USS Tokyo
The Tokyo was put on hiatus last year. This year, it relaunched, joined Theta Fleet, and has had a number of...unique posts. The CO has done a remarkable job of revitalizing the sim and adding new crew.

XO of the Quarter:
Task Force 23: Isabela dei Silvisi, USS Endeavour
Isabella is frequently highlighted by her CO for awards. She is involved in story development, writing, and getting other players involved. She continually steps up to the plate and exceeds expectations.
Area 51: Aren Ban, USS Galileo
The CO continually comments on how great his XO is and how much he does to keep the very active sim moving forward. He helps in and out of character to keep the crew happy and the posts moving forward.

Sim of the Quarter:
Task Force 23: USS Calypso
The Calypso is one of the fleet's workhorses. It generally performs well each month. This is due to a great crew that writes well together and creates interesting missions and posts.
Area 51: USS Galileo
The Galileo is the most active sim in the fleet. But it didn't get the award for that. There are multiple posts that the crew participates in, as well as smaller posts for character development or story development. The CO and XO give the players plenty to do, and are actively involved in all aspects of the sim. The writing is great and the characters are engaging.

Writer of the Quarter:
Task Force 23:
Voz. Voz writes multiple characters on the sim. When he gets involved, he generally gets others writing as well. His characters are quirky, flawed, and fun to read.
Area 51
Notty. Notty writes Miraj Derani on the USS Galileo. This quarter, her character thought her boyfriend was dead, was forced to participate in a mutiny, betray the mutineers, got hit on by the CO, and almost killed by one of the security officers. In addition, the player goes out of her way to write with others on the sim and creates an engaging, delightful character that people enjoy writing with.

Player of the Quarter:
Task Force 23:
Susan and Chantal (tie). Susan plays Jade Lantz and Chantal plays Lieutenant Commander Graves. The two of them have come up with a side story that has rapidly overtaken the main story on the sim. It involves a riot in the Tivoli Gardens (a multi-deck arboretum) over the news that a Cardassian war criminal will not stand trial. Both are great writers and are keeping Starbase Vanguard hopping.
Area 51:
Soren. Soren plays Gilik Farys, Chief Counselor on the USS Falchion. He is a great writer who enjoys writing with others, He's active and responsive. He also goes to the Command Staff whenever he has concerns and tries to understand any reasons players have for their actions.
